Bakugo's spent that last 9 years clawing his way to the top, dedicating every second of his life to becoming the best. Through great effort and sheer will he's finally reached his impetus. The number one Hero, head of the former Endeavor agency, the strongest in the nation, and absolutely falling apart. With Midoriya at his side they created an empire, but the price of being number one catches up with him during a particularly bad fight with a villain who resurfaced after years of watching him progress. A young villain born in the wake of Shigaraki named Suzubachi, The Wasp. He wants revenge on Deku, and he gets it. Not through Deku, however, but through Bakugo. By snuffing out the number one hero, taking away Midoriays dear friend who's been struggling to keep his head above water. It hits Deku hard while he leans over Bakugos motionless body on the battlefield. However, the realization that he's dead hits Bakugo harder- when he wakes up in purgatory.
When a familiar face greets him at the gate his shock and realization is a sobering moment. But as this friend takes his hand and offers to guide him through the layers of purgatory to reach redemption, he feels that this opportunity holds the key to his awakening.
