He spies Bakugo surrounded by a number of these colorful new classmates, who banter and punch his shoulder and laugh, and that sharp spike of green envy burrows into his chest. It’s that damn green. That burning in his lungs. That fire in his veins. It fuels his spite. It backs his punches.
Once, one of Aldera’s school counselors reprimanded him for ‘picking fights for attention’, before saying that he did it so much that his hair might as well have been green from envy, and so fucking be it.
One is green. One is blond. They both get into the same school, and neither is happy about the other. They don't quite get a say in any of it.
or, midoriya izuku doesn't meet all might, and becomes the first quirkless student in the hero course. he gets in by the skin of his teeth and he's going to stay that way, no matter what annoying blonds or too-good-to-be-true heroes he once idolized have to say about it.
