They were close growing up, since they were in diapers really. Everything they did was together. though once Katsuki got his quirk, he changed. He got cocky and believe everyone was lower thank him. He became rude towards everyone including Izuku but still always hung out with him. He began targeting Izuku once he was diagnosed quirkless. It slowly got worse over the years. Started with insults then it got more physical when they hit middle school.
Other kids joined katsuki and teachers did dog shit to help. It was a shitty situation all the way around "stupid Deku" the boy landed a hard kick to the smallers stomach. "You are nothing" his words fell off his lips with venom.
