Bakugo and his friends are hanging out in elementary school when they witness a gay couple and start making fun of them. Bakugo's friends make derogatory comments, leading him to believe that he could never be gay. Years later, during a walk over a river, Bakugo realizes he has developed a crush on Izuku. This realization, coupled with his own internal struggles, causes him to direct anger and frustration towards Izuku. One day in middle school, after telling Izuku to take a swan dive, Bakugo retrieves a notebook he forgot in class and sees Izuku heading towards the roof.
